From Bastitch: Dave Wrote: Notes for Team Improvement (one item)... "2 is 1, 1 is none" The one area that I see that we can improve is that we need to band together more so that we can exercise hammer and anvil tactics and that if we are in a Res type game move out in groups... the radios help for that but to often we got separated it to 1's and 2's and "Salt and Peppered" our opponent. Other times we linked up and handed the enemy their backside in a sling. Joe Wrote: But you do bring a valid point up Steel. We do need to work on 2-1 teams instead of these 1-0 tactics. That is what got me killed. I agree. I was personally involved in 3 separate aggressive pushes with other GW members and thought we did very well, very effective. All three times we drove back the Rangers, and I don't think I would be bragging to say we did it with little help from other Somali. However, once shot dead or separated, and I was "on my own", I sucked big dirty roots. The radios helped return to team mates, but a few times that was not possible because of the activity taking place in the field between locations. In those instances I was just another disorganized idiot wasting paint. The difficulty, for me at least, seems to be keeping track of my team mates when things get hairy or our lines get spread too thin. Next thing I know the only people around me are the ones shooting at me. Hard to focus on not making too much noise in the brush (a major problem for me and my elephantine feet), while tracking the people I'm with, and scanning for OpFor. Give me a stick of gum to go with that and I'll fall over. Practice makes perfect. Maybe we should plan a GW only event, break into 3 - 5 person teams, and stalk each other for a few hours. Build some team movement skills. We get to where we can stay together as a cohesive unit or two, and we should swing a bigger stick in future events. From Mustang: Good idea on the team practice. We should have a team practice to work on tactics, stalking, communications (hand and radio), fire fights, using the surroundings better for cover and camouflage, flanking, and whaterver else needs to be done. There are some plusses and minusses to our weekend at BHD. Don't forget Hillbillies Gone Wild or Postal is coming up in two weeks. I plan on going to Hillbillies but won't be able to go shooting this weekend or next weekend. If a planned practice is going to be planned let me know when. From Steel: I think that is a great idea Bill. I think that we could also use a "engagement commander" for the larger scenario games basicly someone to coordinate the "hammer" and "anvil" tactics and look at the Big picture
